Consultant for Culture and Creative Industries with focus on women within the design sector.

Within its programs in 2023, takween is organizing a regional conference for design trainers and educators for the purpose of exchanging experiences and knowledge, with a special focus on exploring women perspective on the future of the design sector. For this program, takween is seeking a project consultant with a broad experience in culture and creative industries with a focus on women within the design sector in Jordan and the region. The main purpose of the consultancy is to closely work with takween to advise and support its team in implementing this program and ensuring a creative and participatory conference.
The consultant’s role specifically entails the following assignments in preparation of the conference, during and after the conference, in agreement and coordination with takween:
Planning Phase
1. Making recommendations to takween that support developing the content, theme and focus of the conference, as well as shaping the different programs and activities of the conference
2. Giving consultation on topics of major importance to women and their challenges in the design sector in Jordan and the region
3. Making recommendations of experts, trainers, and guests for seminars, workshops, and other activities
4. Developing direction and discussion topics for speakers, panelists, and workshops.
5. Making recommendations for a venue for the conference.
6. Supporting the development of a program agenda and schedule.
7. Supporting the takween team in creating an outreach program/strategy to promote the conference.
8. Developing formats for participants to connect and exchange prior to the conference
9. Providing suggestions/strategy for the continuity of the formed networks beyond the conference
During the event
10. Supporting the takween team in executing the agenda of the conference, facilitation, and registration.
11. Supporting the collection of feedback and evaluations from the attendees to assess the event.
After the event
12. Supporting the evaluation and assessment of the conference outcomes; summarizing and consolidating findings and information resulting from the conference.
The consultancy is seen for 30 working days (6 weeks) with a start in mid-March to end of July 2023. This includes working individually on set deliverables, attending meetings with the takween team, as well as attending the conference sessions.
Assignments to be delivered on a milestone basis and to be agreed with the takween team.
The services of the consultant can also be extended for other programs, if needed.
Eligibility
Interested candidates should have the following skills and expertise to be considered:
· Thorough experience and strong connection in the design sector in Jordan with at least 7 years of relevant work experience.
· An experience in consulting for design-related events and training programs
· Availability to attend meetings with the takween team on a regular basis
· Fluency in English and Arabic

takween is an integrative program which aims to support designers and creative entrepreneurs in Jordan through a series of learning opportunities and community-building initiatives. It was initiated as a collaboration between Goethe-Institut Jordanien and platform in 2018.
The project “Cultural and Creative Industries” is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut. It improves employment and income opportunities for creative professionals in six partner countries; Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Kenya, Senegal, and South Africa and operates mainly in the music, fashion, design and animation sectors. In addition to promoting the development of entrepreneurial, digital, creative and technical skills through training programmes, the project aims to strengthen the framework conditions and the ecosystem of the cultural and creative industries.
